Monoloc
Monoloc, the German techno producer and DJ born Sascha Borchardt in Frankfurt, grew up immersed in the city's punk scene before discovering electronic music in his mid-teens and beginning to release material in 2008 and 2009. He started touring in 2010 and has since become a regular guest at Afterlife and Dystopian label events, performing at major European festivals including Melt and Awakenings, as well as club dates at London's Fabric. His productions have appeared on CLR, Innervisions, Hotflush and Dystopian, and he has also launched his own imprint, Unterland, giving him a platform independent of the labels that first carried his early releases. Borchardt relocated from Frankfurt to Berlin in 2014, aligning himself more closely with the city's techno infrastructure and the Afterlife and Dystopian communities he continues to perform alongside. His sound, often described as dark and dancefloor-focused, has carried him from Frankfurt's underground scene into international festival bookings over more than a decade of touring, with his continued association with Dystopian events anchoring his profile within the deeper end of the European techno circuit.
