About Miss Kittin

Miss Kittin is French DJ, vocalist and producer Caroline Hervé, born in Grenoble. She found her place in electronic music in 1991, made her first mix in 1993 and began DJing professionally the following year with Tekmics Booking Agency, playing dates in France, Moscow and Chicago. After moving to Geneva in 1996, she joined Mental Groove Records and met DJ Hell in Marseille. That meeting led to the Champagne EP with The Hacker on International DJ Gigolo, whose tracks 1982 and Frank Sinatra became electroclash anthems.

Her DJ and vocal work is associated with electroclash, minimal techno and electro, marked by deadpan spoken or sung delivery. She released First Album with The Hacker in 2001, later founded her own label Nobody's Bizzness, and recorded Live at Sónar in Barcelona in 2006 with assistance from Aphex Twin, Modeselektor and Boom Bip. Her Sónar set was issued as a live album, while A Bugged Out Mix showcased her as a DJ rather than only an electroclash vocalist. Rippin Kittin, made with Golden Boy, became her first UK Dance Chart leader and was endorsed by Neil Tennant of Pet Shop Boys.

She also collaborated with Felix da Housecat on Silver Screen Shower Scene. Across club sets, live recording and label work, Miss Kittin has remained a defining voice and selector in electroclash's enduring story.
