Mihalis Safras
Mihalis Safras, an Athens-born tech house and techno DJ, has been active since 1996 and won a DJ Award in 2016 following an IDMA nomination the same year. Traxsource named him Best Tech House Artist of the Year in 2015 and ranked him third on the same list in 2016, underscoring his standing within the genre's touring circuit.
He co-founded the Material Series label with British DJ Mark Broom in 2006, a platform that has anchored much of his production output and reinforced his reputation as a tech house specialist with progressive influences woven into his sets. His track La Samba reached a mainstream audience after Apple used it in an iPhone marketing campaign, broadening his profile beyond dance floors.
Safras has maintained ties to Universal Music Greece since 2005 alongside releases on Relief, and his SoundCloud profile describes him as one of the hardest-working DJ/producers to emerge from the Greek scene. Described in DJ Mag's rankings and by outlets such as MusicRadar as one of Greece's most established club DJs, his career has spanned nearly three decades of touring built around tech house and techno sets delivered internationally, with his self-run Material imprint continuing to feed his catalogue and live performances.
