Michael Bibi
Michael Bibi is a London-born tech-house DJ and co-founder of the Solid Grooves label, who began DJing in 2011 after struggling to break into the industry and responded by throwing his own parties under the Solid Grooves name. Those parties built a following across London before Bibi partnered with fellow DJ PAWSA in 2015 to formalize Solid Grooves as a label, which went on to win Best Label at the 2023 DJ Mag Best of British Awards.
His 2018 single “Hanging Tree,” built around a sample from The Hunger Games, broke into wider recognition and pushed him into bigger festival and club bookings. Mixmag put him on its April 2020 cover as its featured mix artist, and later that year he delivered a two-hour Essential Mix session for Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1.
Diagnosed with cancer in 2023, Bibi returned to performing in 2024 following treatment, including headlining the charity event “One Life” at Finsbury Park in front of 45,000 people, which raised roughly £120,000. His tech-house sets and Solid Grooves brand have made him a consistent presence across UK and international club and festival circuits.
