Mefjus
Mefjus, born Martin Schober in Linz, is an Austrian drum and bass DJ and producer known for a neurofunk sound built on intricate sound design and heavy halftime basslines. He cut his teeth with his own crew and event in the small Austrian town of Wels called Sound Symbiotic before his productions Far Too Close and Distantia earned him the Best Newcomer Producer award at the Drum&BassArena Awards in 2012.
His 2014 debut album Emulation, released on Critical Music, won Best Album at the same awards, and he later entered the Fabriclive mix series with Fabriclive 95, an entry comprised entirely of his own tracks and remixes. Mefjus has collaborated widely across the drum and bass scene with artists including Noisia, Phace and Bou, and he co-founded the label Modus alongside fellow Austrian producers Camo & Krooked to platform those collaborations.
His second album, Manifest, arrived in 2018 on Vision Recordings, the label run by Noisia, and also won Best Album at the Drum&BassArena Awards. Continuing to tour and release music into the 2020s, including tracks on Modus with The Upbeats and Blocksberg, Mefjus remains one of the more prominent DJ-producers to emerge from Austria's drum and bass scene.
