Matrix & Futurebound — Drum & Bass DJ Duo

Matrix & Futurebound is a British drum and bass duo comprising Jamie Quinn, known as Matrix and originally from London, and Brendan Collins, known as Futurebound and from Liverpool, who met while DJing at a nightclub in Belgium. The pair run Metro Recordings and have released through Viper Recordings, and Matrix has said the duo consider themselves strictly DJs when performing, underlining that their live shows center on DJ sets rather than live instrumentation. Their catalog includes the tracks All I Know, Magnetic Eyes, and Control, the last of which reached number seven on the UK singles chart, giving them a rare instance of drum and bass crossing into the mainstream chart. That chart success has translated into festival and club bookings across the UK's drum and bass circuit, where the duo perform their back catalog as DJ sets built around their own productions. Matrix & Futurebound's identity as DJs first, despite their production success, has shaped how they present themselves on lineups, and their chart-topping single has given them a wider audience than many peers within the drum and bass scene.
