Marlo

MaRLo is a Dutch-born Australian trance DJ, born in Amsterdam and now based in Australia, whose stage name's unusual capitalization stems from radio hosts repeatedly mispronouncing his name as “Mario” on air. He was voted Australia's number 2 trance DJ and placed number 11 overall in the Inthemix Top 50 DJ poll in 2010, establishing him as one of the country's leading names in the genre. MaRLo has played major club brands and festivals including Cream, Godskitchen, Slinky, Gatecrasher, Stereosonic, Transmission, Creamfields and Sensation, along with international club dates at GO-Parc in Germany, Paradiso and Sky Garden in Indonesia, Home Club in Singapore, and Cirque du Soleil-branded shows in Belgium, and he has appeared on Ministry of Sound's Trance Nation stage in Australia. He records for Armada Music and owns his own label, Reaching Altitude, home to artists including Heatbeat and Mark Sixma. Starting his career on hardware synthesizers such as the Roland JP-8000, Nord Lead, Korg Wavestation and Novation Supernova, MaRLo now produces largely on computer, but his DJ profile has remained rooted in the same festival and club touring circuit that first carried him from Amsterdam to prominence within Australia's trance scene.
