Mark Knight
Mark Knight is a British DJ from Maidstone, Kent, whose work spans tech house, house, dance and UK garage. Active since 2003, he founded Toolroom Records that same year and built it into one of the United Kingdom's largest labels in house, tech house and dance. The label has hosted artists including David Guetta and Deadmau5, placing Knight's DJ career within a long-term curatorial role as well as a performance one.
His sets and releases remain grounded in house and tech house, with a catalogue that includes the 2016 debut album A Year in the Life and 2021's Untold Business. In 2022 he collaborated with Lukas Setto on Get with You Tonight. Several outside recognitions have marked his career: with Funkagenda, he won the 2008 DJ Awards Track of the Season for Man with the Red Face, and he received a Grammy nomination at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards for work on Black Eyed Peas' The E.N.D.
Pete Tong inducted him into his Hall of Fame in 2015, the same year Tong named Knight's Second Story his essential new tune for June. Rather than relying on a single style or moment, Knight's profile is defined by Toolroom's durable platform and a consistently club-facing approach to contemporary British house music.
