Mark Eg — Hard Trance & Hardstyle DJ

Mark EG is a British hard trance and hardstyle DJ who discovered electro in 1982 and became known in the early 1990s as one of the first UK DJs to bring trance to raves drawing crowds of up to 15,000, including the Helter Skelter and Dreamscape events. His mixed CD releases include the Brainstorm series on React, Techno Transmissions on Rumour, and From Bonzai With Love in 2000 on Bonzai Records, alongside the collaborative mix Battle of the DJ's II with Yves Deruyter. Mark EG was voted best international techno DJ in Serbia by Radio B92 in 1996, and that same period he became the first international DJ to play in Macedonia and one of the first to return to Belgrade following NATO air strikes, touring extensively through Eastern Europe during politically turbulent years. He has also toured the United States alongside Commander Tom and Chris Liberator, and co-runs the label Blackout Audio with Chrissi, while releasing production work under the alias The Anxious. Known for elaborate stage stunts, including destroying record decks with a chainsaw during an Australian show, Mark EG has built his reputation on nearly four decades of hard trance and hardstyle touring.
