Marco V

Marco V, born Marco Verkuijlen on April 3, 1967, in Dinther, is a Dutch DJ credited as a pioneer of tech trance. He began DJing in his teens in Eindhoven, cutting his teeth at the age of 17 at the city's DansSalon club before building a following in the local scene through the mid-1990s. Signed to Dutch label ID&T, he released his debut single In Charge in 2000, following the earlier Southside Spinners collaboration Luvstruck with Benjamin Bates in 1998.

His V.ision EP series, including the tracks Certainly and Indicator, became touchstones of the tech-trance sound that DJs at the time referred to as the V.sound. Marco V's chart success followed with the Dutch Top 40 hits Godd and Simulated in 2002 and Loops and Tings Relooped in 2004. DJ Mag ranked him 16th in its Top 100 DJs poll in 2004, and he remained inside the annual Top 50 through 2009, a run that reflects sustained festival and club bookings across that period.

He continues to perform under the Marco V name as well as the alias Vision 20/20, carrying the tech trance sound he helped originate into ongoing sets on the international circuit.
