Manila Killa
Manila Killa, the Filipino-American producer and DJ born Chris Gavino, has built a career on festival dates and label collaborations across the melodic dance scene. He first taught himself production on GarageBand after moving back to the Philippines as a teenager, later refining his DJ and studio skills once he returned to the United States. In 2014 he co-founded the duo Hotel Garuda with Candle Weather and launched the Moving Castle collective and label alongside AObeats, Robokid and Hunt for the Breeze, a platform that has hosted releases from Slow Magic and Khamsin.
Since leaving Hotel Garuda in 2018 he has toured as a solo DJ, playing sets at Firefly, Ultra Miami, Electric Zoo and 88rising's Head in the Clouds festival. His 2019 debut EP 1993 and 2022 debut album Dusk supported a North American headlining tour, extending his reach as a live performer beyond festival support slots. Official remixes for Chvrches, The Knocks and Tegan and Sara have also become staples in his DJ sets, alongside originals that blend tropical house, trap and chilled dance-pop textures.
He has opened for Odesza, Jai Wolf, San Holo and Louis the Child during a touring career now well over a decade long.
