Lützenkirchen

Lützenkirchen, born Tobias David Lützenkirchen around 1976 or 1977, is a German techno producer and DJ based in Munich who issued his earliest material under various pseudonyms in the closing years of the 1990s before adopting the Lützenkirchen name for his DJ career in 2006. His first releases under that name came through Great Stuff Recordings, the Munich label run by fellow producer Tomcraft, before he launched his own imprint, Platform B Recordings, in 2007 to showcase a broader range of 12-inch material. By 2008 he had shifted his performances toward pure live sets rather than a standard DJ format, a move that coincided with the release of his best-known track, 3 Tage Wach, which reached the German Top 40 and finished as the 60th best-selling single in Germany that year. Lützenkirchen has described the track's vocoder lyrics, which depict three sleepless days of partying, as satire on techno club culture rather than a straightforward celebration of it. His breakthrough came in the middle and later years of the 2000s as his profile grew across Germany's club circuit, and he has continued to perform and release through Platform B in the years since.
