Luke Vibert — Techno & Drum & Bass DJ

Luke Vibert is a British electronic musician from Redruth, Cornwall, who has built a decades-long catalog under his own name and aliases including Wagon Christ, Plug, and Kerrier District, releasing across labels such as Rephlex, Ninja Tune, Planet Mu, and Warp. Vibert attended school alongside future members of Aphex Twin's Rephlex crew, and his earliest release, made with schoolmate Jeremy Simmonds under the name Vibert/Simmonds, drew attention from the Rising High label, which subsequently commissioned ambient techno work from him during the genre's early 1990s rise. His music spans techno, drum and bass, trip hop, and acid styles, a range reflected in his live and DJ performances, which draw on his eclectic catalog rather than a single genre. Vibert has performed internationally, including a documented set at Liquid Lounge in Cork City, and continues to release and tour under his various aliases, moving between dancefloor-oriented techno and more downtempo trip hop textures depending on the project. His long affiliation with Rephlex situates him within the label's influential IDM and acid techno lineage, and his multi-alias approach has allowed him to work across adjacent electronic subgenres throughout a career spanning more than three decades.
