About Luciano
Luciano, born Lucien Nicolet on 24 February 1978 in Montcherand, Switzerland, is a Swiss and Chilean DJ and producer. Born to a Swiss father and Chilean mother, he spent part of his childhood in Switzerland before moving to Santiago, Chile, at age eleven, an experience that shaped the Latin American influence heard throughout his DJ sets.
He built his career on the Cadenza label, which he runs, and has evolved from an early minimal techno style into a blend of house and techno that draws heavily on Latin rhythm and percussion in his live mixing. Luciano has won more than twenty awards across the electronic music industry, including recognitions from the Ibiza DJ Awards, Spain's Vicious Magazine and Swiss NightLife, largely for his work as a performing DJ.
He moved from Berlin to a Swiss village near Geneva in 2007 to be closer to his family while continuing to tour internationally, playing sets at major festivals including EDC Las Vegas. His handlebar moustache became a recognizable image early in his career, later evolving alongside his continued presence on the international club circuit through the Cadenza and Cadenza Lab labels.
