Luca Bacchetti
Luca Bacchetti began DJing in the early 1990s and had spent more than a decade touring internationally by 2019, performing at clubs including DC10 and Tokyo's Womb, as well as on an Asian tour and at Burning Man, an experience that later shaped his production work. His musical background spans hip hop, house, techno, drum and bass, electronica, blues, jazz, soul and funk, with a particular pull toward the house and techno lineages of Detroit and Chicago. His DJ approach is built around bringing together musical worlds that might otherwise seem unrelated.
Bacchetti also worked at a radio station earlier in his career, contributing to on-air shows and adding broadcast experience to his club-based touring. His productions have been released through Crosstown Rebels and Defected, two labels closely tied to house and techno's more song-based, club-adjacent wing. His 2019 album Secret World, while intended for listening contexts beyond the dancefloor, drew directly on his experience DJing at Burning Man for its atmosphere and structure.
That combination of decades-long global touring and studio work that folds DJing directly into the compositional process has defined Bacchetti's standing as a globe-trotting, genre-blending DJ.
