Livio & Roby
Livio & Roby are Robert Precup and Silviu Sandu, a Bucharest-based production and DJ duo who have spent more than a decade releasing sophisticated, minimalist house on labels including Loco Dice's Desolat, Cécile, Vakant and Drumma. They have performed live shows and DJ sets across clubs of varying scale in Romania and internationally throughout their releasing career, building a footprint within the European house and minimal techno circuit. Their session for XLR8R's podcast series, Podcast 422, showcased sixty minutes of largely unreleased material mixed on CDJs and a Rane Empath mixer, a set the duo described as built around flow rather than a preplanned tracklist. The pair also work under the alias Premiesku alongside George G, broadening their production output beyond the Livio & Roby name. Their sound, defined by four-to-the-floor minimalism, chunky kicks and hi-hats, has carried through both their studio releases and their club-facing DJ sets, positioning them within the wider Romanian minimal house scene that gained international attention through labels such as Desolat during the 2010s.
