Liquid Soul — Progressive Psytrance DJ & ProducerLiquid Soul
Liquid Soul, the project of Nicola Capobianco, is a Swiss DJ and producer based in Lugano who began playing progressive trance at the end of 1993. He spent years as a working DJ and studio producer, performing at major raves and festivals alongside Tiesto and Armin van Buuren before launching the Liquid Soul project in 2001, shifting his focus toward the psychedelic side of trance. In 2006, he founded his own label, Mikrokosmos Records, expanding his output beyond his work for Iboga Records, where his albums Synthetic Vibes (2006), Love in Stereo (2008), the remix collection Cocktails (2009), and Revolution built his reputation within progressive psytrance.
Alongside his solo project, he also records as Sleek and partners with Martin Knecht in the duo Earsugar. Capobianco won the Beatport award for Best Psytrance Track in 2009, and in 2010 he took home the awards for Best Beatport Artist, Best Beatport Track, and the DJ Awards in Ibiza's psytrance category, recognition tied directly to his touring and production output that year. Alongside artist Ace Ventura, Liquid Soul helped define Iboga Records' melodic progressive-psytrance sound through the 2010s.
He continues to tour internationally on the psytrance festival circuit, maintaining Mikrokosmos Records as an outlet for his own material alongside his ongoing Liquid Soul releases.
