About Len Faki

Levent Faki, known as Len Faki, is a German DJ and producer of Turkish descent, born in Stuttgart in 1975. He began under the alias DJ La Monde in Stuttgart's techno scene in the mid-1990s, co-founding the labels Monoid and Feis before relocating to Berlin in 2002. Faki has held a residency at Berghain since the club opened in 2004, known for extended sets that stretch across many hours in the club's main room.

In 2003 he founded the label Figure as an outlet for his own productions and to develop new techno artists, later adding the label Podium in 2006. His mixed compilation Lamonde At The Wheels of Steel appeared in 2002, and he continues to tour internationally as a club and festival DJ built around long-form, exploratory sets rather than short peak-time slots. His productions Mekong Delta and My Black Sheep, both released in 2007, helped establish his reputation beyond Berlin, with Mekong Delta topping and My Black Sheep placing fourth in the Groove magazine reader poll that year.

He was voted best newcomer and best producer in the same 2007 Groove Leserpoll. Faki's sound draws on the club's late-night to morning arc, moving between hypnotic minimal techno and harder, driving material over the course of a single appearance.
