Lcaw
Lcaw is the alias of Berlin-based, Munich-born musician Leon Weber, who trained classically as a cellist and pianist in a family of musicians before turning to house music as a teenager. He gained international attention in the early 2010s through a series of viral remixes for artists including Daughter and Lorde, work that built his profile as a house DJ before he expanded into composing original material.
Digital Trends profiled him as a young German DJ who built his career on streaming, having amassed more than 160 million combined plays across platforms by his early twenties. His track 'Painted Sky' became a defining release, and The Playground and 1daytrack.com both featured exclusive DJ mixes from him, describing him as a significant name within the deep house scene despite his young age at the time.
German outlet Süddeutsche Zeitung's youth section noted that Weber was previously known primarily as a house DJ before venturing further into original composition under the Lcaw name. His path from classically trained instrumentalist to house DJ and producer has remained a consistent element of profiles covering his career and Berlin-based studio work.
