Layo & Bushwacka!
Layo & Bushwacka! is the London DJ duo of Layo Paskin and Matthew Benjamin, who released four tech house albums between 1998 and 2012 after meeting through The End nightclub, which Paskin co-owned with Mr. C and where Benjamin worked as a resident DJ.
Paskin began DJing at 16 while working at Camden Market, later playing warehouse parties alongside Mr. C, while Benjamin, a former percussionist with the London School Symphony Orchestra, trained as a sound engineer before joining The End's operations. Benjamin's remix work includes a widely noted reworking of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean, and the pair's catalogue includes remixes of Orbital's Funny Break (One Is Enough) in 2001, Reprazent's Lucky Pressure and Stanton Warriors' The Phantom the same year.
The duo built their reputation through tech house, breaks and acid house-influenced productions and DJ sets tied to London's club scene through The End, before going their separate ways in 2013. They later reunited, with outlets including The Sun and KCRW's Metropolis documenting the pair's continued live sessions and guest DJ appearances together. Their catalogue and shared history at The End remain central to their standing within British dance music's tech house and breaks lineage.
