Kink
Strahil Velchev, known as KiNK, is a Bulgarian producer, DJ, and live performer who became involved in electronic music during the 1990s before releasing his breakthrough track, Same Old Thing, on vinyl in 2005. He has worked with labels including Ovum and Rush Hour, and released his debut album, Under Destruction, through Macro in 2014, followed by a second album, Playground, on Running Back in 2017.
In 2018, KiNK launched his own label named after his hometown, Sofia, extending his role from artist to label owner. He is particularly known for live performances built around improvisation and direct interaction with the audience, a format distinct from a standard DJ set, which earned him recognition from Resident Advisor readers as Best Live Electronic Act in both 2015 and 2016, and a similar honor from MusicRadar in 2018.
KiNK also records under the alias Kirilik and collaborates with partner Rachel Row on additional projects. His dual identity as both a DJ and live performer has made him a distinctive figure within European house and techno, with his hometown-based label reinforcing his connection to Bulgaria's electronic scene.
