About Kevin Saunderson

Kevin Saunderson is one of the Belleville Three, the trio alongside Juan Atkins and Derrick May credited with originating Detroit techno, and his DJ sets and productions helped carry that sound from local parties into international clubs. As one half of Inner City with vocalist Paris Grey, he scored global club and chart hits including "Big Fun" and "Good Life," tracks that became staples of his own DJ sets and racked up more than a dozen UK top 40 chart entries. Saunderson founded KMS Records, using the label to release his own tracks as well as new techno production, and the imprint became a hub for the Detroit sound he continued to spread through club dates and festival bookings worldwide. His DJ sets blend the four-on-the-floor drive of techno with the vocal hooks and song structure that made Inner City's material crossover-friendly, a combination that has kept him booked at both underground techno nights and larger festival stages for decades. Saunderson continues to tour internationally, playing sets that trace directly back to the Detroit scene he helped establish in the 1980s.
