Kaytranada
Kaytranada is the stage name of Louis Kevin Celestin, a Haitian-Canadian DJ and producer who built his following through mixtapes and remixes released from 2010 onward under the earlier alias Kaytradamus before adopting the Kaytranada name by 2013. Signed to XL Recordings from 2014, he released his debut album 99.9% in 2016, followed by Bubba in 2019, which won two Grammy Awards including Best Dance/Electronic Album.
As a DJ, Celestin has described his preference for house-party-style sets over conventional big-room club formats, favoring a loose, groove-driven approach that draws on house, funk, hip hop and R&B in the same session. His sets and productions blend electronic dance music with hip hop and soul sensibilities, a signature that has carried him from underground mixtape culture into major festival bookings worldwide.
Based in Montreal after being born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Celestin is also one half of the hip hop duo the Celestics with his brother Lou Phelps, a project that runs alongside his solo DJ and production career. His crossover between DJ booth and studio has made him a reference point for producers moving between dance and hip hop scenes.
