About Karotte
Karotte, born Peter Cornely in Friedrichsthal, Saarland, on February 15, 1969, is a German techno DJ who began his career in the region's clubs in the late 1980s after training as a chimney sweep, playing venues including Mirage and Schwimmschiff in Saarbrücken. He held a resident DJ position at Kassel's Aufschwung Ost, later renamed Stammheim, starting in 1994, and became a resident DJ of the hr3 clubnight radio show, extending his reach beyond club walls into broadcast mixing.
He played regularly at Frankfurt's U60311 for seven years and became a resident DJ at Frankfurt's Cocoon Club starting in 2006, before taking up a long-term residency at Munich's Harry Klein and later moving to Pacha Munich after Harry Klein closed in 2023. Since its launch, he has hosted Karotte's Kitchen, a weekly Wednesday radio show on Sunshine Live, continuing his parallel broadcast and club presence.
His releases have appeared on the Munich label Kosmo Records, including tracks such as As It Comes and Other Point of View. Active as a DJ since the late 1980s, Karotte's career reflects one of the longer continuous residency histories in German techno, spanning Saarland's early club scene through to Frankfurt and Munich's prominent venues.
