Julian Jeweil
Julian Jeweil, based between the south of France and Berlin, is a Beatport chart-topping techno DJ and producer known for a melodic style of techno developed over nearly two decades. He discovered techno at the Enfanthome party in Marseille and by 2001 was playing underground parties in his home region before joining the Fight Klub crew as a resident, going on to play more than sixty parties within two years.
His breakout production, Air Conditionné, released in 2007, reached number one in Beatport sales, launching a long run of chart-topping releases; at the end of 2015 he was named the number one techno DJ on Beatport. In 2010 he signed to two prestigious labels, Sven Väth's Cocoon Records and Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 Records, releasing the EPs Color and Baboo respectively, with Color's track Soho reaching number one on Beatport's techno chart.
His track Air Conditionné has drawn over a million YouTube views, and his catalogue also includes releases on Craft Music and Len Faki's label Figure. Jeweil continues to tour internationally as a nonstop world-touring DJ, with his melodic techno sound distinguishing his sets and productions within the wider techno landscape.
