Juan Sanchez
Juan Sanchez is a techno DJ and producer based in Amsterdam who has held a residency at Shelter Amsterdam since 2019, one of the city's key underground techno venues. He founded Format Records in 2014, running the label alongside his DJ career and using it to release his own tracks as well as work from other artists in the Dutch techno scene.
Sanchez has played at Berghain in Berlin, Awakenings in the Netherlands, and Time Warp, three bookings that carry significant weight within European techno, alongside additional appearances at Paradigm and Gare. His sets are rooted in a driving, club-focused strain of techno consistent with the Shelter Amsterdam program, and his residency there has anchored his profile within the city's club circuit over the past several years.
Sanchez's combination of a steady club residency, label ownership, and festival and marquee-club appearances places him within the working core of Amsterdam's techno DJ scene rather than at its more experimental or crossover edges.
