Joyhauser
Joyhauser is the Belgian DJ and production duo of Joris Cielen and Stijn Vanspauwen, who met in 2004 in their hometown of Bilzen and initially worked as party promoters before their attendance at the I Love Techno festival in 2006 pulled them more fully into the music itself. The pair DJed separately at first, using their own parties as a space to develop and experiment, before eventually deciding to team up behind the decks.
It was not until 2017, thirteen years after they first met, that they formally launched the Joyhauser name as a joint vehicle for their DJ and production work, with member Stijn's insistence on refining tracks until they met a high internal standard delaying their first releases. Alongside their studio output, the pair built a reputation as selectors through DJ sets across Belgium and other parts of Europe, playing at some of the continent's best-known techno and house events.
Joyhauser marked twenty years of the Belgian label Terminal M with an exclusive guest mix, reflecting their ties to that scene's techno and tech house circuit. The duo's slow, deliberate route from local promoters to a fully formed act underscores a DJ career built gradually through direct club experience rather than a fast label-driven rise.
