Joris Voorn

Joris Voorn, born 25 February 1977 in Tilburg and now based in Amsterdam, is a Dutch DJ and producer whose career took off after winning a DJ competition in Enschede. He decided to commit fully to DJing in 2002, when his “Muted Trax” EP drew support from Carl Craig, Derrick May and Laurent Garnier, prompting him to prioritise touring over other pursuits. Voorn was named Talent of the Year at the Dutch DJ Awards in 2003 and later reached number 10 on Resident Advisor's DJ poll, reflecting a steady rise through house, techno and tech house circles.

He co-owns the Amsterdam labels Rejected and Green, which have served as outlets for his own productions as well as those of like-minded artists, reinforcing his standing within the city's dance scene. Active as a DJ since 1997, Voorn has built a reputation for genre-blurring sets that move between deep techno grooves and more melodic, progressive house textures. He has also performed under aliases including Dark Science and Third Nation, giving him separate outlets for different sounds outside his main DJ identity.

Nearly three decades into his career, Voorn remains a regular at clubs and festivals internationally, continuing to tour under his own name.
