Jon Gaiser

Jon Gaiser, performing as Gaiser, is an American techno DJ from Grand Rapids, Michigan, who studied percussion with a symphony and played drums in punk rock bands before discovering techno and synthesizers at age 15. He made weekend trips to Detroit's nightlife that eventually led him to relocate to the city, where he connected with the Minus crew led by Richie Hawtin, and he later moved again to Berlin, the city he describes as the center of techno and home to Minus's label headquarters.

Since late 2005 he has released minimal techno through Minus and its sister imprint Resopal Red, building a catalog that has made him a consistent presence within Hawtin's roster. Gaiser was invited to participate in the Contakt and CNTRL tours, two of Minus's flagship touring packages, and he developed and performed a live set for the album No Sudden Movements on the Plastikman UK tour, aligning him directly with Hawtin's live-performance ecosystem.

His debut album, Blank Fade, was released in 2008, and he later explored a spacier, ambient and industrial sound under the alias Void with the album No Sudden Movements in 2011. He has also toured extensively alongside his Minus labelmates to mark the label's tenth anniversary, reflecting a career built around Detroit and Berlin's interconnected techno club and touring circuits.
