Jimpster

Jimpster, the English producer and DJ born Jamie Odell, co-founded Freerange Records with Tom Roberts in 1996, building the label into a deep house mainstay that DJ Mag voted Best British Label in 2007. Alongside Freerange he also runs the imprint Delusions of Grandeur, and has released records across both labels as well as on Kudos, Buzzin' Fly, and Instinct Ambient, with titles spanning “Martian Arts” in 1997 through to “Silent Stars” in 2017. Between 2002 and 2007 he stepped away from solo DJing to play in the live electronica band The Bays before returning his focus to DJ sets and label work. In 2010 he won Beatport's Best Deep House Producer and Best Deep House Remix of the Year titles, and his remix work has included a rework of Bob Marley's “400 years.” Jimpster has continued to balance touring DJ sets with label curation through Freerange's roster of artists including Shur-I-Kan and Milton Jackson, sustaining a deep house career that stretches from mid-1990s London club culture through to ongoing releases and international bookings nearly three decades later.
