Jimmy van M
Jimmy Van M, born Jimmy Van Malleghem in Belgium before relocating to Orlando, Florida at age 10, built his DJ reputation through the Delta Heavy Tour alongside Sasha and John Digweed, and through sets alongside James Zabiela and Lee Burridge. He is noted particularly for his warm-up sets, a specialization that shaped his standing within the progressive house and downtempo scene. In 1995 he founded the Balance Promote Group, a DJ booking agency and record pool, extending his influence beyond the booth into the wider business of dance music. His recorded output includes the 2000 mix compilation Trance Nation America and the 2001 release Bedrock: Compiled & Mixed, alongside Balance 010, a three-disc set spanning downtempo, midtempo and uptempo material that traces a tempo arc from 65 to 126 beats per minute. His mix work and productions have appeared through Ultra Records, Bedrock Records and the EQ/Stomp Balance series.
