About Jay Lumen

Jay Lumen, born Csaba Lumnitzer in Budapest on March 1, 1981, is a Hungarian techno producer and DJ who founded Footwork Records and has released material on Drumcode and Second State among other techno-focused labels. He debuted in 2006 with a split release titled Hungary vs. Germany Substance EP on Pure Substance Digital, before building a DJ career around bookings at Ibiza's Space, Miami's Club Space during BPM Festival, Barcelona's elrow parties, Berlin's Tresor, and Sónar in Barcelona.

His touring schedule has also included Ministry of Sound, Amsterdam Dance Event, the Detroit Electronic Music Festival afterparty circuit, Hungary's Balaton Sound, and Amsterdam's Mystic Garden festival. A recorded set from a Footwork label night at Sing Sing in Szeged, released as part of a numbered DJ mix series, documents his hometown club activity alongside his international bookings. Tracks including Human and Mandela have been cited as examples of the cinematic production style that carried into his DJ sets, contributing to his standing within the techno festival circuit.

Lumen's career spans club dates and festival slots across Europe, the Americas, and beyond, built on a catalogue and label platform he has maintained since the mid-2000s.
