Jax Jones
Jax Jones is the professional name of Timucin Fabian Kwong Wah Aluo, a London DJ and producer who built his career through open mic nights before breaking through as a songwriter and co-producer on Duke Dumont's I Got U, which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in March 2014. That writing and production credit carried him toward his own DJ and solo output, including Yeah Yeah Yeah in July 2015, House Work in July 2016 and You Don't Know Me featuring Raye in December 2016, tracks that moved between house, deep house and tropical house while keeping him active on club and festival lineups across the UK and Ibiza. He has performed at Ushuaïa in Ibiza as part of the island's summer DJ circuit, and his production work continued to inform his live sets, drawing on influences ranging from hip-hop and gospel to Afrobeat and classical guitar. Jones met grime producer Ripperman early in his career and worked on releases for Big Narstie and Roadside Gs before pivoting fully into house music, a background that continues to inform the rhythmic variety of his DJ sets. His run of chart singles and remix work has kept him a consistent presence on UK dance radio and festival stages since his 2014 breakthrough.
