Jack Back is the alternate DJ identity of David Guetta, created in 2012 as an outlet for house and techno sets distinct from Guetta's mainstream pop-dance work, and built around its own bookings, catalogue and residency slots. The alias first surfaced publicly with Wild One Two, a multi-platinum single featuring Sia and Nicky Romero, before going quiet until its 2018 revival with Overtone, a track that leaned into techno-tinged, late-night textures far removed from Guetta's radio-facing output. That same year, Jack Back released a 12-track mixtape blending house, techno and tech house, framed as a return to the deeper club sound of Guetta's early career, alongside additional tracks including Reach For Me and Grenade. Jack Back sets have been tied to Guetta's Ibiza residency work, including slots connected to his BIG night at Ushuaïa, where the alter ego allows him to play stripped-back, underground-leaning sets for crowds distinct from his main-stage bookings. The identity functions as a separate touring and studio project with its own release schedule, giving Guetta a vehicle to work in tech house idioms without folding those sets into his primary billing, and it has continued to draw its own bookings on the strength of that distinct sound.
