Housemeister
Housemeister, the Berlin techno DJ and producer born Martin Boehm in 1977, got his first turntables in 1994 and won a DJ contest at the Popkomm Festival in Cologne in 1998, cementing his place within Ellen Allien's BPitch Control collective, which he joined in 1999 before releasing his debut maxi, Wake Up!, on the label in 2002. He holds a DJ residency roughly every two months at Berlin's Suicide Circus, inviting guest DJs and live acts, and has toured more than fifty countries, playing festivals including Melt, Tomorrowland, Sonne-Mond & Sterne, Pukkelpop, Mysteryland, Sonar and SXSW. As label head of AYCB Records since 2005 and a longtime part of Boysnoize Records, he has released albums including Enlarge Your Dose in 2006 and the OP-1 project, produced entirely in hotels, airplanes and transit using a single hardware synthesizer, on Boysnoize Records in 2014. He has produced more than 350 tracks and six full-length albums across a three-decade DJ career, with releases also appearing on Monkeytown, 50 Weapons and Detroit Underground. Housemeister's gigs, described as carrying a 1990s ghetto energy, reflect his roots as a half-lifetime veteran of Berlin's techno scene.
