About Heiko Laux
Heiko Laux is a German techno DJ and producer based in Berlin who has spent over two decades behind the decks at Omen in Frankfurt, where he built a residency during the club's formative years in the 1990s. He founded the Kanzleramt label in 1994 in Bad Nauheim, using it as a platform for his own productions and for other techno artists, and the label became a fixture of the German techno circuit.
Laux has played extensively across European clubs and festivals associated with the Frankfurt and Berlin techno scenes, and he released the album Fernweh in 2014. His sets draw on a stripped-back, hypnotic strain of techno that reflects his roots in the Frankfurt scene of the early 1990s, and he has continued to tour and release music through Kanzleramt into recent years.
He has been described in the press as a key figure of what some call the Hessen techno lineage, tying his DJ career to the club culture that grew up around Omen. Laux's combination of long-running club residency, label stewardship, and steady touring underpins his standing in the techno DJ community.
