Headhunterz — Hardstyle DJ & ProducerHeadhunterz
Willem Rebergen, known as Headhunterz, is a Dutch hardstyle DJ from Veenendaal. Seeing Qlimax in 2003 prompted him to pursue the music, and he soon formed Nasty D-Tuners with Bobby van Putten. The duo won the Defqon.1 DJ contest in 2004 and signed first to Hardcontrol Records, then Scantraxx. After a naming dispute, the act became Headhunterz; when van Putten left in 2006 to continue his studies, Rebergen continued alone and made his solo debut at Defqon.1.
His relationship with hardstyle's major stages has included Defqon.1, Q-Base and Qlimax, and he closed the Defqon.1 Mainstage for the first time in 2009. He also hosted X-Qlusive: Headhunterz at Amsterdam's Heineken Music Hall in 2010. Rebergen formed Project One with Wildstylez in 2008, and their tour brought first visits to Australia alongside Transmission dates in Sydney and Brisbane. His music later expanded into electro house, Dutch house, progressive house and future bass or future house, but hardstyle remains the foundation.
Scantraxx gave him his own sublabel, Scantraxx Reloaded, and his releases have also been associated with Q-dance, HARD with STYLE, Mainstage, Revealed and Spinnin'. Festival anthems including The Power of the Mind and Scrap Attack reflect his sustained connection to harder-styles crowds.
