Hardwell
Robbert van de Corput, known as Hardwell, is a Dutch DJ from Breda who was signed at 14 and initially rose through bootlegs before becoming a key big room house name. His sets have also drawn on EDM, progressive house, techno and hardstyle. After a touring hiatus from 2018 to 2022, he returned with a reworked big-room-techno and future-rave direction, closing Ultra Miami's main stage for his comeback. Before the break, he had already built a record of major-scale DJ performances, including Arena AufSchalke in Germany for 40,000 people in 2015 and D.Y.
Patil Stadium in Mumbai for 75,000 in 2017. Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam has also framed tour launches and finales. His festival schedule includes Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, EDC, Creamfields, Ultra Europe and Defqon.1. In 2014, his back-to-back Tomorrowland set with Tiësto drew more than six million YouTube views.
Hardwell founded Revealed Recordings in 2010 and began the weekly Hardwell On Air show in March 2011, creating two continuing outlets for new music and DJ selections. He won DJ Mag's Top 100 poll in 2013 and 2014, after receiving the 2012 IDMA for Best Break-Through DJ. The arc of his performances shows an artist willing to change direction without leaving festival-scale DJing behind.
