GTA — House & Trap DJ DuoGTA
Good Times Ahead, formerly known as GTA, are the Miami-born American electronic duo of Julio Mejia and Matt Toth. The pair met through a mutual friend on Facebook in 2010, began DJing local bars, college parties and hookah lounges in Scranton, and produced music from a converted dorm room. Early backing from Laidback Luke led to a run of releases and remixes on MixMash Records in late 2011 and early 2012.
Diplo then featured them on his “Express Yourself” EP, an important early step in the duo's wider exposure. Their sets and material draw from house, electro house, trap, hip hop and progressive house, reflecting a broad electronic approach rather than a single narrow style. Good Times Ahead have played Lollapalooza, Ultra Music Festival, Coachella, Made In America, Electric Daisy Carnival and Tomorrowland; a full Ultra Miami set from 2015 documents their presence on a major festival stage.
In August 2019, they formally changed the meaning and public name from GTA, short for Grand Theft Audio, to Good Times Ahead. That redefinition suits a partnership that started in small local settings before progressing to major festivals, preserving a crossover of house energy, trap rhythms and hip-hop influence throughout its DJ identity.
