Gregor Salto
Gregor Salto, born Gregor van Offeren on April 21, 1979, in Haarlem, is a Dutch DJ and record producer. He started on classical piano as a child and became fascinated with house music after hearing Royal House's Can You Party, beginning to make his own electronic tracks on his father's Commodore Amiga around age 14. Together with childhood friend DJ Ernst, he won a talent prize at their high school, the Stedelijk Gymnasium in Haarlem, using the award money along with loans to buy their first studio equipment.
His first record was released in 1994 on Outland Records in Amsterdam, the start of a catalogue that mixed his favored soul, Latin, Afro, and jazz influences into his own house productions. Salto has released through labels including Doorn Records, his own imprint G-Rex Music, Spinnin Records, and Mixmash Records, spanning house, Latin house, electro house, Dutch house, tribal house, and future house styles. His compilation series, including Gregor Salto Ultimate Miami 2 in 2014, reflects his ongoing work curating tracks for club and festival audiences.
He continues to perform internationally as a DJ, drawing on the wide stylistic range that has defined his career since his teenage entry into the Dutch dance scene.
