About Goldie
Goldie, born Clifford Joseph Price, is an English DJ and producer whose work through the 1990s helped establish jungle and drum and bass as recognized club genres. He co-founded the label Metalheadz with DJs Kemistry and Storm, a base that released seminal singles by J Majik, Source Direct, Photek and Peshay while also serving as the platform for Goldie's own material under the Rufige Kru and Metalheads aliases. His 1993 single Terminator introduced the time-stretching technique that became a defining tool in jungle production, and Metalheadz's associated club night at the Blue Note in east London became a central gathering point for the scene's DJs and dancers during the decade. Goldie's debut album Timeless is treated as a genre landmark, and its 25th anniversary was marked with a live orchestral performance of the record at Ronnie Scott's in London, filmed by Resident Advisor. He has continued releasing new material, including the 2026 EP Metal Giants, and remains closely tied to Metalheadz's ongoing output and club presence within the UK drum and bass scene he helped define.
