Gestört aber GeiL, the German DJ duo of Spike*D, real name Marcel Stephan, and Nico Wendel, built a career from their shared residency at the My Ccools World nightclub in Sangerhausen, where they met while regularly playing records before launching their collaborative project in October 2010. Their breakthrough came at the Sputnik Springbreak festival in 2012, where they won the event's DJ contest, pushing the duo toward a melodic tech pop and deep house sound that blends borrowed pop vocal hooks from artists such as Phil Collins and Adel Tawil with house-driven production.
Signed to Kontor Records since early 2015, the duo released their first single for the label, a remix of Turkish-German pop singer Elif Demirezer's Unter meiner Haut, before issuing their self-titled debut album in January 2016. The album reached number 2 on the German Albums Chart and went gold with the BVMI.
Gestört aber GeiL continue touring Germany regularly, including a planned 2027 tour titled Musik vom & für's Herz featuring live singers alongside their DJ sets, and they perform at their own branded GAG Das Festival event. Their catalogue includes deep house and tech house-inflected pop productions released through Universal Music and Kontor Records, sustaining a club and festival presence across German-speaking Europe.
