Genix
Genix is the recording name of Damion Lewis Houchen, a British DJ and producer active since 2003 and long affiliated with Anjunabeats, the London trance label founded by Jonathan Grant and Paavo Siljamäki of Above & Beyond. Houchen built his reputation on energetic house and trance productions, releasing his debut artist album 199X through Anjunabeats and becoming best known for the festival-scale track Stadium Four, considered a defining record of the modern Anjuna sound. He served as a resident DJ and promoter for The Emporium nightclub in the UK earlier in his career, a role that grounded his DJ practice in club residency work before his production profile expanded his international bookings. His sound sits within melodic progressive trance, a style that has kept him aligned with Anjunabeats' broader roster and its associated festival brand, Anjunabeats, and the accompanying radio and streaming platforms the label operates. Houchen's long tenure within the trance scene, spanning over two decades since his 2003 debut, has positioned him as one of the genre's established production and DJ figures, with his catalogue continuing to circulate through Anjunabeats' compilation series and DJ sets by other artists on the label's roster.
