About Gayle San
Gayle San began her DJ career in the late 1980s in her native Singapore, working as a warmup DJ for touring acts including Kool and the Gang, Earth, Wind & Fire and the Commodores at the Top Ten Club. She left Singapore in 1993 to pursue a DJ career in the UK, taking early London club slots through record company parties, one-off guest spots and fashion show appearances that gradually built her profile.
Those early bookings led to a residency at Reach, a London club night, and San went on to establish herself within the techno and house scene as house and techno music moved from underground culture into the European mainstream during the early 1990s. Her rise coincided with limited representation of Asian artists in the international techno community at the time, a distinction frequently noted in profiles of her career.
San has continued touring internationally as a techno DJ for more than three decades, sustaining a career built on live club performance rather than a single breakout release. Her biography, documented across multiple European DJ databases and festival profile pages, consistently traces this arc from Singapore warmup sets to an established London-based international techno DJ career.
