Fur Coat

Fur Coat is the Venezuelan house and techno duo of Sergio Muñoz and Israel Sunshine, who met at a party in Venezuela in 2004 while each pursuing solo careers, Muñoz as Delete and Sunshine already mixing locally and touring South America and Europe. The pair spent years playing back-to-back sets and building a shared studio chemistry before formally launching the Fur Coat project in 2010, the same year Crosstown Rebels founder Damian Lazarus discovered them and released their debut EP, Space Ballad, on his label. That signing became the foundation of a long-running relationship with Crosstown Rebels, through which Fur Coat released the Berlin Chronicles EP and contributed to the label's 10 Years of Crosstown Rebels compilation, work that helped carry their sound from Venezuelan club nights to the global house and techno circuit. Their profile grew further with entry into the Resident Advisor Top 100 poll at number 66, an accolade repeated the following year as their productions evolved toward a more melodic house and techno direction. Now based in Barcelona, the self-taught duo continue to tour internationally as DJs and producers, their partnership standing as one of the more durable Latin American exports on the European club and festival circuit.
