Funkagenda

Funkagenda, born Adam Walder in Birmingham, is a Grammy-nominated house and tech house DJ and producer who rose to wider recognition after winning Best Breakthrough Artist in DJ Magazine's 2009 poll. Signed to Mark Knight's Toolroom Records, he partnered with Knight on "Man With The Red Face," which won Track of the Season at the 2008 DJ Awards, and followed it with "Antidote" in 2010, two collaborations that placed him firmly within Toolroom's house and tech house roster during the label's rise.

In 2011 he launched his own label, Funk Farm, based out of his home studio in Erdington, giving him an independent outlet for productions alongside his Toolroom work. His DJ sets draw on house, tech house and techno with minimal influences, a blend that has carried across club and festival dates built on the same tech house sound that defined his early breakthrough.

Now based in Brooklyn, Funkagenda continues to produce and perform internationally, maintaining ties to the Toolroom and wider UK tech house scene even after relocating away from his Birmingham roots. His Grammy nomination reflects work connected to the wider Toolroom camp during a period when the label's tech house sound reached mainstream awards recognition.
