Federico Scavo
Federico Scavo is an Italian house DJ from Fucecchio, Tuscany, who marked 30 years at the console as of a 2021 profile documenting his rise from local parties to international bookings. He debuted as a support DJ at age 17 at the Boccaccio Club in Calcinaia, mentored by Claudio Mingardi, before playing clubs including Belli e Pitoni in Lucca and venues across Tuscany.
His breakthrough came with the 2011 track Strump, whose melody he recorded on his phone overnight before finishing it in the studio the next morning, a release that helped launch his international career. In 2002, Roger Waters personally recognized Scavo's version of Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall as an official remix, an endorsement that raised his profile beyond Italy's house scene.
Scavo has been named best Italian deejay multiple times and has performed internationally alongside artists who helped found house music, while also building a recording studio and DJ school in Fucecchio. For years he balanced DJing with work at his family's tannery before committing fully to music, a background that has featured in a documentary chronicling his career.
