Far Too Loud
Far Too Loud is the DJ and production project of Brighton-born Oli Cash, launched as a duo with Dom Smart in 2005 and rooted in breakbeat before expanding into electro-house, dubstep and bass music more broadly. The project's early breakbeat productions won it a foothold in the UK bass scene, and the track "Get High" was awarded Best Single at the 2007 Breakspoll Awards, cementing Far Too Loud's standing in the breaks community during that scene's mid-2000s peak. An electro remix of Lily Allen's "Not Fair" gained enough traction to be worked into her live show, leading to a follow-up remix commission and wider crossover recognition.
Far Too Loud's DJ sets are built around filthy electro-house and dubstep selections layered with the act's own productions and exclusive edits, a style shaped by growing up in Fatboy Slim's hometown of Brighton. Later releases, including the 2012 "Firestorm" EP and follow-up "Faster Than Light" EP, moved the project further into bass music, drawing high praise from that scene and setting up releases on heavyweight labels including OWSLA, Never Say Die, Disciple and Monstercat. Far Too Loud has also remixed bass-scene names Zomboy, Snails and Pegboard Nerds, and collaborated on tracks with Beardyman and JFB.
Across two decades, the project has moved fluidly between breakbeat roots and harder-edged bass and electro-house without settling into a single fixed style.
