Fake Blood is the house and electro alias of Theo Keating, a London-born DJ and producer who first made his name as one half of the British hip hop and big beat group Wiseguys, alongside Paul Eve, before pivoting to club-focused electronic music under the Fake Blood name. Keating's Fake Blood project earned a slot on BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix in March 2009, one of British radio's most prominent DJ mix broadcasts, cementing his standing within the UK club and radio DJ circuit. He compiled FabricLive.69 in 2013 for the London club Fabric's long-running mix series, a release tied directly to the venue's storied club culture and a marker of his standing among UK club DJs. His single “I Think I Like It,” released in 2009, reached number 59 on the UK Singles Chart, number 4 on the UK Indie chart and number 12 on the UK Dance chart, while his full-length album Cells followed in September 2012 on Different Recordings, supported by the singles “Yes / No” and “All in the Blink.” Earlier, as one half of Wiseguys, Keating had scored recognition with tracks including “Start the Commotion” and “Ooh La La.” Across his Fake Blood period, Keating built a career centered on club-oriented DJ mixes and Essential Mix and FabricLive placements that anchored his standing within UK dance music.
