Fabrizio Maurizi
Fabrizio Maurizi is a DJ and producer from Bologna who came up through the city's illegal rave scene before moving into residencies at some of Italy's major clubs. His DJ sets span house and techno without strict genre boundaries, mixing organic textures with darker, sci-fi-leaning atmospheres, low bassline frequencies and vocal samples, and he has played clubs including Fabric, Rex, Robert Johnson, Womb, Cocoricò and Cocoon.
In 2007 he founded the label Memento alongside Idriss D and released his debut EP, Hasta la Baldoria Siempre, which entered several genre charts, and in 2008 he joined Richie Hawtin's Minus roster, where he continued producing and performing. Maurizi's path into the Minus family followed early exposure to Hawtin's own DJing, a formative influence that shaped his move from Bologna's underground toward international club bookings.
His reputation on the circuit rests largely on the character of his DJ sets rather than any single breakout record, with reporting describing his mixing as having built a distinctive underground following over his time on Memento and Minus. That combination of label-running and touring DJ work has kept Maurizi active across house and techno scenes tied to Bologna's Detroit-influenced club history.
